Overview

The QC Co-Lab has an audio/video recording studio that can be used for podcasting, how-to video creation, and other fun uses.

Training Requirement

The studio does not have a training requirement, however, it is encouraged for those new to audio and video production to sit down with a trainer to learn the various functions of the hardware and to receive some basic instruction in the various applications on the studio workstation. Please contact Cody Wilson to inquire about training.

Capabilities

  • Audio Production
    • Studio workstation is connected to an M-Audio Fastrack 410 Firewire audio device. A number of various microphones are available and can be used with the 410 unit. Booth headphones are currently connected to the 410 for local monitoring.
    • Studio workstation has a full copy of Reaper, a complete Digital Audio Workstation software package.
  • Video Production (Not fully capable)
    • Video Recording
      • No video capture hardware is currently connected to the studio workstation. The studio workstation has an embedded webcam that can be used for basic how-to video production, but it is not recommended for quality reasons.
    • Video editing
      • iMovie for basic editing and dubbing. Good intro program for quick and dirty video work.
